Gordon Faggeter (1948 - 2020) born in England, in the county of Surrey in 1948, settled in Brighton as a boy, where he formed the Cyan Three with some of his peers. The group was a guest of the Piper Club in Crocetta in 1967 and became the permanent musical accompaniment of Patty Pravo and Mia Martini. Faggetter was also an esteemed painter. He created dozens of album covers from the 1960s, including those of Patty Pravo's 33s and some covers for De Gregori. Among the latter, the best known is that of the album "La Pecora". In 1973 Gordon settled in Rome (then definitively in Campagnano Romano) and decided to abandon music and dedicate himself full time to painting. Faggetter's technique consists of particular means. The choice of colors is significant. The light tones are eliminated a little while those that require a certain intensity for the harmony of the composition are always surrounded by an atmosphere that is sometimes made deaf to accentuate the dramatic effect. Already from his first production, symptoms of a lasting adherence to religious themes could be seen, so much so that in 1988 he was commissioned to paint an oil on canvas measuring 4 by 3 meters depicting Christ and the 117 Vietnamese Martyrs. The presentation of this work, now belonging to the Vatican Museums and exhibited there, takes place in St. Peter's Basilica in the presence of His Holiness Pope John Paul II.
