Umberto Faini (Milan 1933) Lives and works in Milan. He studied at the School of Applied Arts of the Castello di Milano, then at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. He attended painting courses with Aldo Carpi, decoration with Gianfilippo Usellini and scenography with Tito Varisco, also attending Achille Funi's classroom. He carries out teaching activities at the Art High School and at the new Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, as a teacher of artistic anatomy and at the Academies of Carrara and Bergamo, as a painting teacher. His artistic activity is characterized on the one hand by an in-depth practice of drawing and images in all its aspects, on the other by research work on the sign-colour in relation to the perceptive variability of light. Great expert in all ancient and modern traditional techniques, he has performed numerous and important wall works.
