Orlando Fasano Biography
Orlando Fasano (1915 - 2001), born in Udine, after having lived for a long time abroad and having established important friendships and collaborations with some of the great protagonists of the artistic culture of his time, including Jacques Prévert, Max Ernst, Pablo Picasso , Jacques Cocteau, Hans Arp, Calder, chose Mogliano Veneto, and more precisely Campocroce, as his home for thirty-five years of his life. Remembered today as an original interpreter of the twentieth century, a figure among the most lively and brilliant Italian expressions of the century just gone by, he was one of the protagonists of the Fucina degli Angeli, an innovative Venetian laboratory of artistic glass production. Venetian by adoption, Fasano was an artist who enjoyed wide critical acclaim at an international level, thanks to his peculiar ability to express his artistic sensitivity through the experimentation of different artistic languages (from painting to sculpture, from collage to glass ) and to a personal pictorial research full of intense vital energy, close to Fauvist sensitivity.
