Charles Fazzino Biography
Charles Fazzino (1955 - ), a graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York City, is one of the most famous and collected pop artists of all time. During his more than thirty years as a pop artist, he has woven his unique, detailed, vibrant, three-dimensional artistic style into the very fabric of popular culture. Creator of 3D Pop Art, he first took an amused look at his city, painting its neighborhoods, its inhabitants, its taxis, its frenetic life in great detail and with a very recognizable style. Sports, cinema and medicine are also among his favorite themes. His works are the result of several sketches. These give life to a painting from which silk-screen prints are cut out and glued manually, overlapping. Charles Fazzino's works are exhibited in a hundred museums and galleries in more than 20 countries. He has received numerous private and institutional commissions and has been selected as the official artist of festivals and events, such as the Super Bowl or more recently the London Olympics. Charles Fazzino is often considered a pop culture historian for the breadth of his work and the way he touches his collectors by capturing the best snapshots of their lives. Closely linked to the American culture of patronage and mutual aid, Fazzino also supports, through his art, many medical and social causes throughout his country and around the world.
