Luis Feito, Spanish painter (b. Madrid 1929). He studied at the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid. In 1957 he founded the El Paso group together with M. Millares, R. Canogar and A. Saura, expressing, in the abstract language and exacerbated taste for pictorial material, a profound and dramatic protest that was not only formal but also political. Subsequently, F. focused his research on a luminous distribution of colour, spread across flat surfaces, in a refined and modulated play of chromatic transitions. In 1985 he was appointed Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters by the French government. In 1992 he created an exhibition of acrylic paintings on newspaper in Madrid. In 2006 several of his individual exhibitions were held in Gijón, Valencia and Malaga.
