Amendola Ferdinando Artwork valuations, appraisals and auction estimates

Ferdinando Amendola is a painter particularly attracted to Impressionism, an artistic movement that was increasingly gaining ground in Europe and which was characterized by its attention to the play of light and color and the representation of subjects in an immediate and realistic way.
Amendola developed a personal style that was influenced by impressionism, both in terms of the subjects chosen (which ranged from city views to still lifes) and in the pictorial technique used.
His painting was in fact characterized by a dense hatching that gave life to fast and vibrant brushstrokes, capable of capturing the effects of light and atmosphere on the scene represented. Amendola's brushstrokes were so rapid and incisive that they outlined the shapes and volumes of the objects with great precision, without losing sight of the overall effect he wanted to achieve. Amendola Ferdinando Biography

The result was a brilliant painting, full of expressiveness and life, which managed to bring the atmosphere and weather conditions of the moment onto the canvas in an extremely immediate way.
As with the Impressionists, also in Amendola's painting the traditional perspective followed precise rules, but was obtained exclusively through chromatic gradations and not through the creation of a perspective grid.
