Franco Ferlenga (Castiglione delle Stiviere, 22 March 1916 – Castiglione delle Stiviere, 5 February 2004) was an Italian painter, sculptor and architect. Born in Castiglione delle Stiviere, in the province of Mantua, on 22 March 1916, he began his artistic activity from a young age, graduating in 1939 from the Brera Academy in Milan. He subsequently attended the city's Polytechnic, driven by a growing interest in architecture. For Ferlenga, the Second World War was first the years of military service and then the years of the Resistance. After the war he won some competitions and created large cycles of works from the 1960s onwards. In 1978 the President of the Republic Sandro Pertini appointed him Knight of the Republic for cultural merits. In 1989 he painted the altarpiece for the Cathedral of Castiglione delle Stiviere. An anthological exhibition, including 150 works, was dedicated to the artist in 2006 at Palazzo Menghini in Castiglione delle Stiviere.
