Alberto Ferrero, born in Vercelli in 1883 and died in Rome in 1963, was an Italian painter and teacher of nude art at the Geneva Academy. Ferrero was a famous master of "Divisionism" and won numerous awards, also participating in the Biennials and Triennale of Milan. He achieved international prestige thanks to the frescoes created in public buildings such as the headquarters of the State Bank of Freiburg. Ferrero painted large paintings with a strong social content, using the technique of separating chromatic pigments to produce particular luminous effects. His style is characterized by an intimate and twilight sensitivity, which is reflected both in the themes covered and in the light, atmosphere and painted space. Ferrero was a multifaceted artist, capable of creating not only large symbolic works but also accurate drawings, landscapes, flower gardens and portraits of his wife, an expression of a strong spirituality and a poetic charge aimed at graphic and chromatic research. Ferrero died in Rome in 1963.
