Gianfranco Ferroni (Livorno 1927-Bergamo 2001) Ferroni's arrival in the world of art occurred after a long series of renunciations and economic difficulties that marked his path. Having moved to Tradate after his father's death, he entered the colorful post-war environment of Brera where he met and frequented the group of Guerreschi, Romagnoli, Ceretti and Vaglieri which enabled him to break away from political and social realism. His solitary activity underwent thematic changes from the impact with the reality of a journey to the most archaic areas of Sicily, undertaken in 1956 with Vaglieri, and from the Hungarian revolt, which painfully affected the entire group. He participated in the Venice Biennale in 1958 and in numerous collective exhibitions in Milan, Rome, Florence and Turin, and takes part in the III Mediterranean Biennial in Alexandria, Egypt. Personal exhibitions were organized by the Bergamini Gallery of Milan in 1956, 1957, 1959, by the Galatea Gallery of Turin in 1963, 1966 and 1976.
