Novello Finotti Biography

Novello Finotti (Verona 1939) Lives and works in Sommacampagna of Verona and in Pietrasanta, in the province of Lucca. He attended the Cignaroli Academy and his exhibition activity began in 1958 with the exhibition of sacred art in Assisi. Also at the end of the 1950s he participated in the third international bronze competition in Padua, an artistic genre of humanistic memory. In 1964 he exhibited in New York and two years later he was invited, with a group of works, to the Venice Biennale, where in 1984 he was present with a personal room. Between 1998 and 2001, between the old and new millennium, he executed the three large bronze doors for the Padua basilica of Santa Giustina, in addition to the eighteen portraits placed on the back of the central portal and the four marble symbols of the evangelists inserted in the niches of the facades . In 1977 he exhibited at the Jackson Iolas Gallery in New York and the following year, as part of the Festival dei due Mondi in Spoleto, in Charleston in the USA. In 1989 he held a solo exhibition at the Centro de Arte Euroamericano in Caracas. In 1997 he received the Pietrasanta and Versilia in the world International Award.
