Giuse Fiorentino Biography
Giuse Fiorentino (1937 - 2003) was born in Larino, in the province of Campobasso, in 1937. Geometric abstractionism, spatialism, figuration and a period of research characterize the 1960s of his production. He follows the New York experience, which is important and decisive in his artistic activity. His first exhibition dates back to 1955 which was followed by events in Naples 1958, Rome 1959, Florence 1960, Turin 1962-1963, Milan 1965, London 1965. An internationally renowned artist, he has also exhibited in Paris, Zurich, Stockholm, Baltimore, New York. Upon his return to Italy he founded STUDIO 2, a cultural center available for counter-information. His social commitment takes shape in the behavioral art of the mid-70s. The personal exhibitions from '58 to '85 in Naples, Rome, Milan, Turin, Florence, London, New York, Copenhagen, are comparable, in terms of prestige, to many critical awards: the Mid Times Award of Rome, the Onda TV Award of Milan, Cesare D'Oro Award from Verona, Gold Plaque of Critics Award from La Spezia. His works appear in museums, public and private collections in Italy and abroad. The documentation on the artistic activity of G.
