L. Fioretti Biography
Lionello Fioretti (1945 - ) was a multifaceted artist; born in Bagnarola, in Friuli Venezia-Giulia, he was then active in all the adjacent towns up to Montereale Valcellina, the Portogruarese and Motta di Livenza. Having graduated in literature in Padua with the thesis Zen Buddhism and contemporary artists of the sign, he decided not to dedicate himself to school teaching and instead to undertake the activity of restorer, sculptor and painter, training with Virgilio Tramontin. The first poems published in the «Quaderni della FACE» date back to the beginning of the Seventies, often accompanied by inks or other figurative techniques that anticipate a constant of the author: the intersection of poetry and painting, the two vocations to which his expressive research. Fioretti was the winner of various literary prizes such as "L' Abano Terme", the "Città di San Vito" and then in 2004, posthumously, the "Renato Appi" in Cordenons and the "Giuseppe Malattia della Vallata" in Barcis for poetry in minor languages. Of his many works of poetry and prose we remember, among others, the one in collaboration with the Circolo Culturale Menocchio "Stories for the winter solstice" for prose, "Viluta Vilota Pravisdomini la Motta" for poetry and, published by Province of Pordenone, “In miès al palut”. He was a refined watercolourist and his works are part of the private collections of numerous institutions and families.
