Jacopo Foggini was born in Turin in 1966 and currently lives and works in Milan. He started working in the family business at a very young age, where he discovered the many possibilities offered by methacrylate, an industrial material usually used in automotive design. Jacopo's first experiments with this material date back to the 1990s, when he began using a machine he invented that heats methacrylate up to 200 degrees, producing a filament that he shapes manually to create luminous shapes, monumental works and intricate labyrinths of threads, intertwined in an elegant fusion of colors. Jacopo's first solo exhibition was held in 1997 at the space of his longtime friend, Romeo Gigli, and he has since exhibited in over sixty galleries and venues worldwide. For years he has actively participated in the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, creating evocative installations. His solid relationship with Edra, which has lasted for many years, has also been consolidated thanks to his latest creation for the prestigious brand: the A'mare chair. Recently, Foggini received the Prix Versailles Architecture & Design - "Interior Africa and West Asia 2022" for the installation created at Amar Café in Beirut, in collaboration with Gregory Gatserelia, responsible for the interiors.
