Joan Fontcubera (Barcelona, ​​24 February 1955) is a Spanish photographer, teacher, essayist, curator and writer. Graduated in Information Science, Fontcuberta teaches Audiovisual Communication at the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona. He is considered one of the greatest exponents of contemporary photography. In 1980 he founded the magazine Photovision and from 1984 to today he has published six essays on photography, some of which have been translated into various languages. His works have been exhibited in numerous museums around the world, and form part of important public and private collections.
