Camillo Francia Biography
Camillo Francia (Casale Monferrato 1955) Initially in a local context and progressively expanding the reference territory, he participates in group exhibitions, wins prizes, organizes personal exhibitions of his works, achieving ever greater success and great admiration for the precocious talent demonstrated. In 1979, he created a group of drawings inspired by poems by Prévert, Eluard, Apollinaire and Baudelaire, which were presented in a volume by Davide Lajolo and reviewed by Mario Pomilio. Francia's expressive language is oriented towards the use of the sign, through which, thanks also to a skilful use of colour, he recreates a naturalistic poetics of great impact. Reason and emotion, in his paintings, are in perfect balance. In 2002, in Casale Monferrato, he obtained the Palme d'Or award - Leonardo Bistolfi. In 2003, in Milan, the prestigious International Award for Art and Culture.
