Salvatore Fratantonio was born in Modica in 1938, where he developed a passion for painting at a young age. He then decides to move away from his hometown to explore new artistic horizons, and settles first in Rome and then in Milan, studying the currents of contemporary art and the movements that preceded it. In Alberto Trevisan's laboratory in Rome he learned working methods and developed his own technique that characterizes his unique artistic expression.
During his long artistic career, Fratantonio has exhibited in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, in private galleries and public institutions, always maintaining a strong connection with his Sicilian homeland. His painting is mainly figurative, but he has also experimented with the informal in some works. His intimate aesthetic mainly investigates existential motifs.
Fratantonio is inspired by the great masters of the last century such as Morandi, Mafai and Tomea, but develops his own unique and personalized style. His painting has been exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions, showing a constant evolution in his art.
