Mario Fusco, a painter born in Turin in 1934, is known for his artistic production characterized by an expressionist language, which highlights gestures in drawing. In some of his works, Fusco proves open to the exploration of informal aesthetics. The artist's intent is to overcome mere sensorial perception in order to identify the authentic essence of reality and communicate it in an intense and dramatic way through the canvas. To accomplish this, through the application of color, he develops a high synthetic process that condenses subjects into dense, material pictorial layers. His emotionality, transmitted through almost brutal gestures, takes on a primary role in this practice. The painter passed away in 1987.
