Massimiliano Gallelli was born in Cremona in 1863. He studied at the Brera Academy in Milan and later moved to Rome to work alongside Cesare Maccari. Gallelli remained in Rome until 1896, the year in which he moved first to Florence and then to Paris and Nice, establishing his residence. During this period, he created the frescoes of the Monte Carlo Casino, masterfully executing various allegorical works. Gallelli created both religious works and portraits and, in 1924, obtained a medal at the Female Portrait Exhibition in Monza. Gallelli died in San Remo, Imperia, in 1956.
