Francesca Galliani Biography
Francesca Galliani (1962 - ) graduated in Fine Arts (Photography) from the Corcoran School in Washington, DC. After her BFA she began her career in New York City, her new city where she still lives, often traveling from Milan. In 1995 he won the Kodak European Panorama Award in Arles. The artists with whom he has exhibited include Helmut Newton, Robert Mapplethorpe, Pierre et Gilles, Joel-Peter Witkin and Marina Abramovic. He has exhibited, among others, at “Bias” (International Biennial of Contemporary Sacred Art of the Religions of Humanity in Palermo 2018), MAC in Milan, Palazzo Isolani in Bologna, The Museum Ciurlionis in Kaunas (Lithuania), La Biennale di Venezia, Palazzo della Ragione in Milan, Palazzina Reale di Santa Maria Novella in Florence, International Photography Biennial in Brescia. Galliani's work has been published in books such as Portrait of New Angola (Skira/Rizzoli), Lo stato dell'Arte. Regions of Italy (Skira), Art and Homosexuality. From von Gloeden to Pierre et Gilles (Electa), Curve Pericolose (Maretti), The Nude Ideal and Reality (Skira), Women by Women (Prestel). He has curated editorials for fashion magazines such as Velvet and Vogue Gioielli and artistic interpretations for campaigns such as Levi's (2007 and 2011), John Richmond (2010 and 2011), Stefanel (2010) and Duvetica (2010).
