Romolo Garrone (1891 – 1959) is the pseudonym perhaps of Neapolitan origin, of a Turin artist born in 1891 and died in 1959. Study with the painter Andrea Tavernier and with Livio Ajmone. A famous mountaineer, he created a beautiful collection of mountain paintings based solidly according to Tavernier's dictates. He was present for three decades at the exhibitions of the Promoter and the Friends of Art in Turin. Several solo exhibitions in Piedmontese cities gave him good fame as a mountain painter. He was a prisoner in Germany for two years in the Nazi concentration camps. He brought home an interesting collection of color studies and drawings.
