Winfred Gaul (Düsseldorf, 1928 – 2003) arrives in Milan on 16 February 2018 at the Menhir Arte Contemporanea gallery with the exhibition “Winfred Gaul – Malerei” curated by Marco Meneguzzo and Alberto Rigoni. A protagonist of painting in Germany throughout the second part of the 20th century, Gaul also had links with Italy over the years: he worked at the time with Italian galleries and was an investigator of the panorama of abstraction in Italy. The German artist, founder of the analytical painting of the seventies, made a decisive contribution to the international development of the movement.
