Giacomo Gemmi, born in Piacenza in 1863, attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Verona where he trained, and then made his debut with two perspective views. A profound connoisseur of landscapes, he participated in numerous exhibitions exhibiting his works that reflected this passion of his. During the 1990s, however, he tried his hand at creating works on sacred subjects, some of which using the fresco technique, such as in the church of Sant'Antonio in Padua. Giacomo Gemmi died in Parma in 1947.
