Jeremy Gentilli, painter and printmaker, was born in January 1926 in London, England. He studied at Oxford University and a number of art schools. He graduated from Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts, which was then under the influence of Euston Road Group, founded in 1937 by a group which included Victor Pasmore. Gentilli left for Paris in 1951 and studied at the atelier of Fernand Léger, and later with Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17.
