Harrie Gerritz was born in 1940. He considers himself a landscape painter, however his work does not satisfy the obvious idea we have of him. Gerritz's paintings show the essence of the landscape; over the years his landscapes became more abstract and became more and more views in the mind.
Around Wijchen, where Harrie lives and works, his passion for landscape began. Houses, bell towers, rivers, trees and castles, and the sun, moon, stars and planets play a role in his paintings. These marks in the landscape can be found in his sculptures, paintings as well as in his graphic work.
