Ferdi Giardini Biography
Ferdi Giardini was born in Turin in 1959, where he lives and works. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin in the scenography course. He began exhibiting in 1986 with a solo exhibition at the Franz Paludetto gallery in Turin. He continues his artistic activity, with personal and collective exhibitions, in public and private spaces both in Italy and abroad. In 1996 he participated in the four-year exhibition in Rome and in the same year the De Fornari Foundation, Turin, purchased the sculpture "Flows of golden honey flowed from her". In 1998 he participated in the 1st Biennial of Parks and Nature in Rome. In 2006 he participated in the Biennial of Bulls and Lions, Lyon - Turin, and the Gam of Turin, having purchased the installation “Bait for dragons”. In 2011 he participated in the 54th Venice Biennale. Since 2005 he has held a professorship at the Polytechnic in the Faculty of Architecture of the Degree course in Industrial Design - Virtual Graphic Design. Materials and Models Laboratory II. Since 1996 he has been involved in design, and collaborates with lighting companies: Luce Plan, Oluce, Ilti Luce, Antonangeli, Slide, his inventions for these companies are produced and sold all over the world.
