Gioppe Dibella (Trapani 1945 - 2007) Having come into contact with the Milanese artistic environment, he attended the studios of Castellani, Bonalumi, Vermi, Tagliaferro, Roger, Calos, Nagasawa and others. Initially in his works he looked for the essence of forms to arrive, in 1972, at his first geometric works. The circle becomes the basic element of his research. From 1975 to 1985 he examined the identity between form and substance, moving around the idea of ​​freeing the canvas from the apparent two dimensions. He built the first large tableaux using modern technological materials, such as specular plexiglass, stainless steel and expanded polyurethane. Thus he addresses the problem of optical illusion and constancy of form.
