Bernard Girard (1918 - 1997) was an American screenwriter, producer and director. Born in Vallejo, Girard served in the United States Army Air Forces during World War II. During his 30 years in the entertainment industry, Girard has been associated with more than 300 TV shows. He was nominated for an Emmy for "You Are There". Other television credits include: "Playhouse 90," "Alfred Hitchcock Presents," "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," "The Twilight Zone," "McHale's Navy," "Wagon Train" and "Rawhide." Girard also directed several feature films, including “Party Crashers,” starring Frances Farmer, and “Dead Heat on a Merry-Go-Round,” starring James Coburn. Girard died at the age of 79.
