Nino Giuffrida Biography
Nino Giuffrida, Italian painter, was born in 1924 in Catania, Sicily. From a young age he showed a great passion for art and painting, so much so that he attended the art high school in Catania. During this period, he frantically painted every detail of his surroundings, be it landscapes, sailors or still lifes. In 1946, Giuffrida completed his military service in Rome, a city that fascinated him with its priceless works of art, such as, for example, the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. Three years later, in 1949, the artist decided to settle in Paris, where he created splendid paintings depicting Parisian landscapes. However, his true vocation has always been artistic composition. In order to hone and develop her skills in this new field, Giuffrida spent a lot of time on the café terraces of Montmartre and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where she casually drew portraits of restaurant customers. Giuffrida died in 2010.
