(Susa, 1825 – Milan, 1909). Trained at the Albertina Academy in Turin, he has participated in the exhibitions of the local Promoter since 1846 with works on historical-literary subjects. Since 1855 he has been assistant to the first figure drawing chair in Turin, alongside of Enrico Gamba, then with Raffele Casnedi in Milan where he moved in 1860. He participated in the National Exhibition of Florence in 1861 and in the following years he was constantly present at the Turin and Milanese events with sacred subjects, landscapes and genre scenes. In 1866 he frescoed the allegories of Asia and Industry for the lunettes of the dome of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, shortly afterwards replaced by the current mosaics. With works inspired by the Ligurian Riviera he participated in the Universal Exhibition in Paris in 1878 and in the international art exhibitions in Venice in 1895 and 1897. In 1906 he was present at the National Exhibition in Milan.
