Little is known about the life of Henri Godet, born on 5 March 1863 in Paris, a person known for being a sculptor and medal engraver. His fame is based mainly on his small bronzes of women, nicknamed "flower women". According to a 19th-century advertising pamphlet, Godet boasted a variety of talents. He defined himself as an expert in decorative sculpture, in the engraving of medals, in the creation of tomb monuments, busts, medallions and replicas of ancient sculptures. Godet died on 14 October 1837 in Vincennes.
