Giuliano Grittini was born in 1951 in Corbetta, a city in the province of Milan. After obtaining a diploma in graphic design, he began working as an assistant for numerous artists and as an expert in printing technique. During his long artistic career, Grittini has had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the most important artists on the world scene, including Andy Warhol and Alda Merini, who have significantly influenced his work.
The Milanese artist develops his own artistic technique which he defines as "cracker art", characterized by the decomposition of the image and the subsequent recomposition with multi-material elements of text and colour, creating a unique and original result. Grittini's paintings draw inspiration from the surrounding social reality, captured through the camera lens or from images spread by advertising.
Through his works, Grittini wants to sublimate reality, presenting the life of the 70s and 80s in a continuous poetry of a symbolic nature. One of the artist's favorite subjects is Marilyn Monroe, whose cracker art portrait is featured in many of her unique and original works. Grittini has also created portraits of actresses such as Angelina Jolie and Sharon Stone, demonstrating his ability to develop iconic images. During his long career, the artist has stood out for his constant research into questioning his own technique, always in search of originality and uniqueness.
