Roy Greyson was born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, in 1936. He studied at the College of Art from 1952 to 1956, obtaining the National Diploma in Design (Fine Art). He attended the Royal College of Art, 1958 to 1961, with a French government scholarship in the latter year. From 1966 to 1999 Grayson worked with the group One Four; Alecto International published his Flikker Book in 1972; and Jam Press was founded in 1973. Grayson was a professor at the University of Brighton, 1985 to 1987; with studies at St Martin's and Chelsea art schools and the universities of Sheffield and Nottingham; being also a professor at the Royal College of Art and Goldsmiths' College. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions and numerous solo exhibitions. Grayson was represented by Galerie Fortlaan 17, in Ghent, Belgium.
