Svitlana Grebenyuk Biography
Svitlana Grebenyuk was born in Ukraine in 1979. She lives and works in Milan. He obtained his high school diploma in his country of origin then, in 2001, he enrolled at the New Academy of Fine Arts (NABA) in Milan. He continued his studies at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. He made his debut in 2003 by exhibiting in the exhibition Acqua, Acqua, Acqua at the Leonardo da Vinci Museum of Science and Technology in Milan while in 2004 he participated in the collective Quartetto at Nowhere Gallery, also in Milan. In 2005 she was selected for the Salon Primo and her works are exhibited at the Museo della Permanente in Milan. In 2006 she was invited to be part of the project: A work done ad arte, curated by Monica PiroIla, at Palazzo Te in Mantua and again in 2006 she was among the winners of the Italian Factory Award for young Italian painting. In 2007 he participated in the exhibition Indicativo Presente, curated by Alessandro Riva, Maurizio Sciaccaluga, Luca Beatrice, at MiArt, and in La Nuova figurazione italiana: to be continued, curated by Chiara Canali, at the Fabbrica Borroni in Bollate; also in 2007 was his participation in Il Treno dell'Arte – From Tiziano to Nespolo to Street Art: 500 years of Italian Art, a traveling exhibition curated by Ferdinando Arisi, Duccio Trombadori, Luca Beatrice and Chiara Canali. In the same year he had the double solo show Mnemosyne, with Cristiano Tassinari, at Spazio 8 in Milan. In 2008 he participated in Germinations. At New Breed, at the City Museum, Palazzo della Penna, Perugia, curated by C.Canali, and at Rumors, former Arsenale Borgo Dora, Turin. In 2009 he had the personal exhibition Ultima trace at the Fabbrica Borroni in Bollate. In 2010 he participated in the Cross Painting exhibition, curated by Alessandro Riva, at the Superstudio Più in Milan as part of the (con)Temporary Art event. Also in 2010 he participated in Il Mito del Vero. The portrait. Il Volto at the Durini Foundation in Milan, curated by Giacomo Maria Prati, and at Portraits, curated by Vittorio Sgarbi, at the Civic Gallery of Modern Art in Cento (Ferrara). In 2011 he inaugurated his personal exhibition at the First Gallery in Rome, curated by Angelo Crespi. In the same year he was among the finalists of the Cairo Prize. In 2012 a double solo show was dedicated to her (“Twin Rooms”, with Elena Monzo) in L'Avava during the International Festival of Young Art, and she was invited to participate in the collective show “Perturbaciones”, curated by Silvia Fabbri at the Museo de Bellas Arts of Havana. In 2013 he participated in “Road Maps” at Officine Creative Ansaldo, in Milan, and in “Art Cards – past and future” at Art Forum in Bologna. In the same year he was invited to the collective “CI – Contemporary Istanbul” at the Istanbul fair. Also in 2013 he participated in the “Nero” exhibition at the Galleria Bianca Maria Rizzi in Milan, curated by Emanuele Beluffi.
