Hermann Groeber (Wartenberg, 17 July 1865 - Gstadt am Chiemsee, 24 June 1935) was a German painter, much in demand in Germany for his portraits and landscapes. From 1883 to 1886 he studied in Munich, making several study trips to Holland, Northern Italy and Paris, where the young painter came into contact with European artistic movements. As a self-employed painter, Groeber soon found success. In 1907 he became head of the Aktklasse at the Munich Academy, where he was appointed full professor in 1911. In 1911 he received the gold medal in the exhibition at the Munich Glass Palace. .
