The DAM (Designer Associati Milano) Group was established in Milan in 1967 and produced an impressive production of chairs, lamps and tableware before being disbanded just eight years later in 1975. Documentation on the DAM Group is limited, however the projects attributed to it have become iconic and credit for them is often shared with the G14 Group and the skilled designers who were part of it. This group was formed in the late 1960s and included professionals of the caliber of Gianfranco Facchetti, Umberto Orsoni, Gianni Pareschi, Giuseppe Pensotti and Roberto Ubaldi. Pareschi described the birth of the G14 Group as having taken place "on the banks of the Polytechnic", referring to the Polytechnic of Milan, where members trained in the field of design and developed an integrated working mentality and an innovative vision.
