Maurice Guiraud-rivière Biography
Maurice Guiraud Rivière (1881 - 1947) was a complete artist, gifted with great talent and versatility. Born presumably in the late 19th century, he quickly became one of the greatest exponents of painting, design and sculpture of his time. The main subjects of his works included dancers, athletes and horses, who were depicted in theatrical and moving poses, expressing a sense of elegance and vitality. Rivière used to combine different materials in the production of his sculptures, especially bronze, ivory and marble, creating works that were characterized by extraordinary beauty and refinement. In the period between 1919 and 1930, he mainly tried his hand at producing porcelain figurines, which found great success among a wide audience. In addition to his sculpture works, Rivière also produced numerous drawings and paintings, often inspired by landscapes, human figures but also sporting motifs, proving himself to be an artist capable of expressing himself with extreme versatility and originality.
