August Haerning (1874 - 1961) was a Danish artist known for his landscape paintings of beaches, buildings and genre scenes.
he attended S. Vermehren's school and graduated from the Royal Art Academy in 1899. He worked and traveled in Sweden and the rest of Scandinavia in the late 19th century and took study trips to Germany in the 1920s.
Haerning worked as an art teacher from 1902 to 1942 and was a member of the November 18 Artists' Union. In 1903 he received the prestigious Royal Academy medal, as well as the Raben-Leveetzau prize in 1900 and 1902.
