Magistrate and traveler (Milan 1828 - Alexandria in Egypt 1883). Participated in the Five Days of Milan; having entered the judiciary, he made many trips to the East and was (1874-80) in Egypt as head of division at the Ministry of Justice. In 1881 he made a journey from Benghazi to Derna, according to two different itineraries, and wrote a report which is one of the best works on Cyrenaica before the Italian occupation.
