Hans Peisser (1506-1571) E Pankraz Labenwolf (1492-1563) Biography

Hans Peisser was born around 1506 in Hassfurt, Lower Franconia, and was a renowned German carver and architect of the Renaissance. When he was young he moved to Nuremberg, where he obtained citizenship and worked for various princely courts, such as those of Pomerania, Bohemia and Kremsmünster Abbey. Among his most important works are: the wooden model of the "Goose Man" fountain in Nuremberg and the wooden model for the fountain of cherubs in the courtyard of the town hall of the same city. Both fountains were cast in bronze by the famous sculptor Pankraz Labenwolf. Hans Peisser died after 1571 in an unspecified location.

Pankraz Labenwolf was a prominent German mineral founder, born in 1492 in Nuremberg and died on 20 September 1563 in the same city. One of its main design methods was based on wooden models made by sculptors, since the founders did not possess the same skills. In this regard, he collaborated with Hans Peisser, a renowned carver. Together they created two very important public works: the "Goose Man" fountain in Nuremberg and the fountain of cherubs in the courtyard of the city's town hall. Pankraz Labenwolf's disappearance occurred in his hometown of Nuremberg on September 20, 1563.
