Richard Harlfinger was an Austrian painter born in Milan on 17 July 1873 and died on 12 September 1948 in Vienna. After studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, he devoted himself to painting Alpine landscapes. In 1906, he joined the Vienna Secession of which he was also president in 1918 and 1919. During the First World War, he worked as a war painter in the artistic group of the Imperial and Royal War Press Quarters. Some of his works are exhibited at the Imperial and Royal Army Museum.
He died on 12 September 1948 in Vienna.
