Marianne Heier was born in Oslo in 1969. She completed her studies in Italy at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and in Norway at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts. The artist specializes in performance art and frequently explores specific institutions "from the inside", presenting the results through performances, texts, installations or spatial interventions. Marianne Heier dedicates herself to investigating the role of art in Western culture, placing a parallel between the aesthetic and political dimensions, from antiquity to the present. His research focuses on the main issues that afflict our contemporary world, particularly marked by the crisis of the democratic paradigm.
