Fritz Heinemann (1905 - 1983), son of the gallery owners Theobald and Franziska Sara Heinemann, was a German art historian and dealer. Born and lived in Monaco, in 1930 he began traveling to take care of his family's business. In the same year he also obtained a doctorate in art history and in March he officially began working alongside his widowed mother. After 1938, activities for Jewish businesses were no longer possible due to the bans issued by the Nazi German government, but in 1936 Fritz moved to Switzerland with his wife Sibylle Weiler (married in 1929) and his son Thomas (born in 1931). . As early as November 1930, Fritz had taken over the management of the Galerie Hansen in Lucerne and subsequently held the majority. From 1943 he remained probably the sole shareholder of the family gallery and due to the debts incurred, the Hansen Gallery was closed in 1949.
