Carlos Hugo Christensen was born in Santiago del Estero, into a family of Danish origins on his father's side, in 1914. After finishing high school, he began his career as a director in 1945. In 1996, after over fifty years of career, Christensen decides to retire from directing. Three years later, in 1999, he died suddenly in Rio de Janeiro due to a heart attack. With his passing, the world of cinema loses one of its greatest artists and innovators.
