Maria Jannelli Biography
She was born in Milan in 1951, where she graduated from the Art School and the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. She has been present since the end of the seventies in various collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Among the most important exhibitions are Quattro Giovani at the Centro S. Fedele in Milan in 1981, XXXI and XXXII Milan Biennale at the Permanente in 1989 and 1994, VI and VII Triennale of engraving at the Permanente in Milan in 1990 and 1994, Milan - One hundred artists for the city in 1995 Palazzo della Permanente Milan, Venature at the Neues Kunst Quartier in Berlin XXXV Suzzara Prize. In 1996 Carlo Dalla Zorza Award of Milan (selected), Venature at La Posteria of Milan in 1998. A characterizing feature of his work is represented by the long activity in common with Pino Di Gennaro, Renato Galbusera, Anonio Miano and Claudio Zanini, with the acronym Atelier, starting from the exhibition of the same name held in Milan in 1983 (see also Enciclopedia dell'Arte Zanichelli under Atelier -Milan) With them he gave life to real exhibition projects such as Memories of doors never crossed - Palazzo dei Diamanti - Ferrara 1991; and in the same year Gliocchi del Metrò - line two of the Milanese Metro, Five artists in Milan at the Cascina Roma in San Donato Milanese in 2003, and 5 in flight at the Officine del volo di Milano in 2005, Five artists in Milan at Jorge Alcolea Arte Contemporary in Madrid again in 2005, in Valencia in 2006 and in Barcelona in 2008. There are also various solo exhibitions that present his work to the public, among which the exhibition at the Shop Art Gallery in Milan in 1990 and at the Secondo Rinascimento Gallery in Bologna in 1997 stand out, we also remember the double solo exhibitions with Renato Galbusera at Villa Sacchi in Gemonio in 1995, at the Cortina Gallery in Milan in 1995, at the Oratory of S. Ambrogio in 2002, at the Ex Soave Hospital in Codogno also in 2002 and at the Cappelletti Gallery in Milan in 2004 and at the Montrasio Gallery in 2006. In connection with the his important teaching activity was invited in November 2011 to present his work in the Hajech Space of the Brera High School with the exhibition “Di glances resentful dreaming restless” focused on the theme of the female face. Among the most recent are the following dates. In 2008 he was part of the artists' representation at Casa Italia during the Beijing Olympic Games. In 2009 he exhibited “Dazzled under faded stars” with Renato Galbusera at the Oberste Baubehörde in München and as part of the exhibition “Magenta and his Red” at Casa Brocca - Magenta. In 2010 he exhibited with Renato Galbusera in the Arianna Sartori gallery in Mantua, in the exhibition “Destini di animali” at the Information Museum in Senigallia and at the Arteincornice gallery in Turin. In 2011, with Renato Galbusera and Ruggero Passeri, he was present in the exhibition “Two or three things that I know about her” in the church of San Cristoforo in Lodi as part of Naturarte; again with Renato Galbusera he exhibits in the exhibition “From the extreme edge of some buried age” at the Granata-Braghieri Foundation in Imbersago-Lecco. As part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy he is present with Di Gennaro, Galbusera, Miano and Zanini at the exhibition “For a battle” at the Borghese Gallery in Mentana – Rome With the same he exhibited at the Passepartout Gallery in Pero-Milan, while in December he was present at the Italian Pavilion – Venice Biennale – Sala Nervi – Turin.
