Abraham Janssens (Antwerp, ca. 1573/1574 – Amsterdam, 1632) was a Flemish painter. A pupil of Jan Snellinck, he is documented in Rome in 1598. From 1601 he was a member of the Guild of Saint Luke in Antwerp. On the basis of stylistic considerations, a second trip to Italy around 1604 is hypothesized, when he may have come into contact with Caravaggio's innovations. He painted mainly religious, allegorical and mythological themes in large format, being part of the "Antwerp classicists", lovers of clear compositions and coloring based on light shades.
