Jassa Tumbona Old Ikea Biography
JASSA is a collection of traditional Indonesian-inspired prints, Ikat and Batik, stands out for its harmonious combination, despite the apparent difficulty of reconciling these elements. In addition to prints, the collection also includes a range of furniture and objects made from curved fibers that recall the style of the seventies. Behind the JASSA project, promoted by IKEA, we find the contribution of five creative minds, some of which are familiar to the general public. For example, Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek collaborated with IKEA designers Nike Karlsson, Iina Vuorivirta and Paulin Machado, under the guidance and coordination of Karin Gustavsson, creative director of the project. Gustavsson highlights JASSA's goal of making objects handmade from natural fibers and batik fabrics familiar, transforming them into something new and exciting. JASSA offers a wide range of options, under the colorful and bohemian look. Earth-toned furniture can be paired with cooler colors, or simply black or white. Furthermore, you can liven up your sofa at home with colorful cushions. The pieces in the JASSA collection are made from materials such as rattan, bamboo, water hyacinth, seaweed and cotton, giving an organic look and a pleasant feel. To create this collection, JASSA designers researched the craft traditions of Vietnam and Indonesia, focusing on a more careful and slower approach, abandoning modern mechanized processes.
