Jeffrey Greene Design Studio Biography

Jeffrey Greene is a renowned furniture maker specializing in 18th century American design. His expertise focuses on creating historical replicas that are accurately faithful to important original pieces from museums and private collections. Greene is particularly known for his work in the Newport style, associated with legendary Rhode Island cabinetmakers such as the Townsends and Goddards. The furniture he makes is made entirely by hand, following all the methods of the cabinetmakers of the time in order to guarantee the authenticity of the design and structure. To satisfy the requests of its customers, Greene produces custom-made and commissioned furniture. His pieces, made with fine materials such as solid wood, are among the most popular in the industry today. Currently, the focus is mainly on dining tables made of wood slabs and steel, metal and wood bases. Greene's work has been featured in numerous art and design magazines and he is the author of the book "American Furniture of the 18th Century: History, Technique, Structure," in which he documents the evolution of 18th-century American furniture design. Additionally, Greene frequently lectures on the topic and history of American furniture, thereby sharing his knowledge and passion with a broader audience.
