He was born in Lecco in 1878 to Giovan Battista Jemoli. A capable and modest man, he began his activity in decorative art and then, encouraged by his family, he attended the Brera Academy in Milan, a pupil of Cesare Tallone. He achieved a solid education which immediately earned him notoriety and favor from the public and critics. His art ranges in different pictorial themes, from portraits, highly appreciated at the time, to compositions, figures and landscapes. This last aspect, of which he was an attentive and delicate interpreter, saw in him a predilection for mountain views, created avoiding any useless excess. He was also an etching artist of great ability. His work is fully placed in the Lombard tradition, born from his origins in Varese and strengthened by his Milanese training. In Gemonio he is well known and appreciated and some of his works have been donated to the Municipality itself. He died on 16 December 1960 in Milan.
