Girolamo Joli was born on 19 July 1780 in Brescia and died on 2 August 1855. It is believed that Joli received his first teachings from his father, who was a painter, and later became a landscape painter, a numismatist and an archaeologist. Among his most important works are "Drawings of Roman epigraphs", as well as drawings depicting episodes of the Ten Days. In 1823, Joli presented "Ancient monuments of the Riviera Benacense drawn", subsequently published with the title of "Various ancient monuments of the Riviera Bresciana". Girolamo Joli died on 2 August 1855.
