John Keating was born in Tipperary in 1953. He studied at Crawford College of Art Cork, Trinity College Dublin, Loughborough University and the Arts Students League in New York, which he attended as a Fulbright scholar. Keating has exhibited nationally and internationally, including exhibitions in the United States, Italy, Spain, Greece, Monaco, and China. His work is included in private and public collections in Ireland, the United States, Australia, Italy, Greece and England. Keating has lectured and tutored drawing studies at the National Gallery of Ireland, the National College of Art and Design, the Dublin Institute of Technology and the University of Pittsburgh, USA.
